Another week of work is over!! 😁 Green folders came home on Friday. In it was information for the school pictures, Boosterthon information, Read Your Way to the Big Game sheets (which is different from the other Gamecock reading log), the Veterans Day Breakfast sign up sheets, and a birthday invitation from our superhero classmate, Robbie. Please view, sign, and return any items needed by Monday. Below you will find friendly reminders and next weeks learning.

This week, Monday, we will embark on our 1st field trip to Camp Discovery. The cost is $23 and is payable online through Parent Portal. We will leave the school at 9:15 and return at 1. Please, if you checked home lunch, be sure to send your little hero's lunch in a disposable bag labeled with their name. When we return, we will have our Boosterthon Pep Rally.

Veterans Day is quickly approaching. We would like to celebrate all of our veterans by creating a hallway Hero Wall. Please send in a picture of a family or friend veteran with a short caption. Pictures can be photographs or printed. If it is a photograph, please ensure your child's name is written on the back.

Last but not least, remember Thursday, the 17th, is a regular school day, but there is no school on Friday, the 18th. Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing all of my little heroes on Monday ready to rock and roll for this field trip!!

Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness in their pink

We have been talking about vocabulary and synonyms. One of our activities that we are working includes making name poems and finding synonyms to help describe us. It just so happened that Lea was wearing an acrostic poem that goes right along with what we were working on.....now this is hands-on, authentic learning!! We are working with our WICOR partners for this activity, because sometimes 2 heads are better than one.

Reading
Image result for folktales

This week we will continue our study on folktales. The students will be reading different types of books and will have to decide whether or not the book is a folktale. We will also be reading some fractured fairy tales (ex. The Wolf Who Cried Boy, The Three Little Pigs story told by The Wolf, etc) as well. If you have any at home and would like to send them in so we can share with the class, we would appreciate it. We will work on writing a narrative and then opinion writing.

Math
